TCF is customized to nurture the needs of developing minds. But we know that parents sometimes need help, too. We offer a safe space where caregivers can share their stories and look for advice in an confidential, non-judgemental environment.

All caregivers (parents, grandparents, family, nannies) with infants up to 12 months can join us for their baby’s first experience in a group setting. Appropriate learning for children at this developmental level means exploring the world with all their senses.  Engaging in physical activity is essential for healthy development.

Our Infant Area provides a safe and clean environment where infants play and experiment with their surroundings in a purposeful way.

Parenting classes are done with parents on the floor with their infants.  While infants explore, their parents/caregivers learn about positive parenting skills, and optimal growth and development through conversation-based classes.

Parents and caregivers with infants are welcome to use our state-of-the-art Infant Room. It’s a great resource for your infant to be active and stimulated in a different environment than your home. Call a friend and have coffee while your babies get to explore.

TCF offers a program for for young children ages 12-24 months & 24-42 months.  Toddlers and caregivers participate in educational play and group activities.

The emphasis at this age is on learning through play and encouraging growth of independence.  Children explore books and puzzles, engage in imaginary play and music time, and socialize with peers.

Young toddlers develop their motor skills in the Gym and Wheel Room.

Parenting education eases the family through this fun and challenging developmental time, and is conducted separate from the children so parents are free to express their concerns.

During the parenting class, the toddlers are supervised by our staff in the Gym and Wheel Room and begin to develop a sense of independence.

Field trips around "Our Beautiful Tahoe" meet Wednesdays at 9:30. We explore our beautiful surroundings while focusing on Early Childhood Literacy, Life Cycles, and nature.

Open Gym

(0-5 years)

Children, with their parent, have the opportunity to explore and expand their physical skills through the use of safe and sturdy equipment for crawling, climbing, balancing, jumping, and pedaling. Both the Gym Room and Wheel Room are open during this time. As the children explore the equipment, they gain physical ability and social skills.

(0-12 months)

Parents and caregivers with infants are welcome to use our state-of-the-art Infant Room. It’s a great resource for your infant to be active and stimulated in a different environment than your home. Call a friend and have coffee while your babies get to explore.

(0-5 years)

The gym and wheel room will be open on Saturdays during winter months so families have a safe, dry, warm place to be active and play. Children, with their caregivers, will benefit from the activity and socialization. Children can pedal, climb, jump, crawl, and slide as they gain new skills and friendships.

Healing Hearts

Though starting a family and welcoming a new baby is often a time of happiness and joy, for some it can come with sadness, depression, and loss. Support after miscarriage and infertility challenges are great areas of need in our community. Often women and families experience these incredibly hard times alone, without the benefit of a community or psychological professional to aid them in recovery and healing.

Healing Hearts is a free 10-week support group led by local psychotherapist, Pamela Donohue. We create a safe and supportive environment to talk about the heartbreak of miscarriage and fertility issues. Pamela and the group support help you heal on a mental, emotional, and spiritual level. We discuss the many aspects of thwarted motherhood and the grief and stress it produces.

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them. It pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical.
